Why is my TimePassages Android app crashing?

Modified on Wed, Sep 23 at 1:37 PM

If your TimePassages app is crashing, there are a few possible causes. Here are some things to try before reaching out to us.

Basic troubleshooting

  • Force close the app and reopen it
  • Restart your device
  • Make sure your app is updated to the latest version
  • Make sure your Android OS is up to date

If the app is crashing when viewing transits specifically

There is a known issue on Android where the app may default to saving transit charts rather than simply displaying them. Over time, a large number of saved transit charts can accumulate in your account and cause the app to crash.

You can clear these out yourself by logging into the web app at astrograph.com/cloud and deleting your saved transit charts from there.

? Pro tip: Once you select the first transit for deletion, you can press Tab + Spacebar repeatedly to quickly select the next ones in order — much faster than clicking each one individually!

If you'd prefer we take care of it for you, submit a support ticket and our team will clear them out on your behalf.

If none of the above helps

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. If the issue persists, submit a support ticket and include as much detail as possible about when the crash occurs so we can investigate further.

Our engineers are actively working to improve app stability.
